On the banks of the Meuse, you’ll find Villa Hastière, a unique holiday home in the village of the same name, not far from the French border. Built in 1936 in the distinctive "streamline moderne" style, the villa evokes an era when architecture dared to combine elegance and functionality. A few years ago, it was given new life thanks to Eve and Thierry, the founders of the design brand Zangra.

They renovated the house from top to bottom, transforming this historic building into a modern, warm, and inspiring space. The villa’s authenticity was preserved while being revived with a contemporary touch. The result? A beautiful, spacious home where the interior and the stunning river views offer everything you need for a relaxing getaway. For the interior, Eve and Thierry wanted to maintain a balance between design, nature, and authenticity:

“In all our projects, we consciously choose local and environmentally friendly materials, such as hemp blocks for insulation – excellent for moisture regulation – and breathable natural plaster for the ceilings. We also keep this in mind when selecting furniture: second-hand where possible, and sustainable where necessary.”

While Eve often opts for understated and elegant tones in her professional projects with Zangra, she chose a bolder colour palette for Villa Hastière. “The colourful Kewlox furniture brings energy to the spaces with a more neutral base. The blue and orange sideboards, for example, break up the white walls with lively, playful accents.”

From the office to the showroom in Brussels, and from their own home to the various holiday properties they manage. Eve’s love for Kewlox runs deep, and she gladly passes that passion on:

"My eldest son moved out a few months ago. For the cabinets in his apartment, he chose—no surprise—Kewlox. The tradition continues..."

That’s why Kewlox furniture can be found in several rooms. The reason? Its modularity, simplicity, and creativity, combined with sustainable wood and local production.

“We had already furnished our office with Kewlox cabinets, so the choice for Villa Hastière was an easy one. The various options in size, layout, and colours also make it a joy to work with.”
